I found out that the more you like a book, the harder to write it's review because it is impossible to find the most suitable words to describe how much i love this book !!!! Okay, *take a deep breath* here it goes ---
The Hunger Games is a fantastic, breathless and somewhat brutal read that once you start you simply can’t put down again. Initially I had no idea what this book was about or what to expect in terms of YA writing, it had just been recommended to me by so many people and had such a buzz surrounding it that I had to find out for myself why. Well let me say I was not disappointed and have now joined the legions of Suzanne Collins fans in awaiting her next instalment.
Set in a post apocalyptic future (although we frustratingly never learn the why's, how’s or even when of this future.) This new communist-type America known as Panem has been divided into a Capital and its 12 districts. We follow 16 year old Katniss as she struggles to keep her starving family alive, hunting and gathering with her best friend Gale. Unbeknownst to her these are valuable skills as the annual hunger games are about to begin.
Each year these games require two children from each district who are chosen based on a lottery system for compulsory participation. These televised games are then broadcast throughout Panem (with mandatory viewing) as the 24 contestants fight each other to the death, leaving just one victor at its violent conclusion. It’s kind of like Survivor but instead of being voted off the island you have to kill your competitors. When Katniss’s younger sister is chosen as the female contestant from their district Katniss volunteers to take her place. Then together with Peeta the other lottery winner they travel to the capital and begin preparations for the opening ceremonies and ultimately their death in The Hunger Games.
Oddly this has been written without paragraph breaks and I have to admit the first part of it dragged for me, as Katniss is groomed, clothed, and schooled by her entourage within the capital. However as soon as the games begin, lookout! By this point in the story you have become attached to several key characters and its then that you realize things can’t end well as there will be only one winner. Over a period of about 2 weeks and against overwhelming odds we watch 24 victims dwindle as they struggle to survive. Simultaneously avoiding and hunting each other they form alliances, face hunger and mind numbing thirst, mutant animal attacks, friendship, love and ultimately a distrust of everyone as Big Brother raises the stakes to keep the audience interested.

Katniss is no ordinary heroine. Peeta is no ordinary hero. The story is no ordinary story. Even the dreaded love triangle is no ordinary love triangle. NOTHING ABOUT THIS STORY IS ORDINARY. Throw everything that you expect out the window because it is going to blow your mind and leave you reeling.
Yep, there’s humor. Being provocative, intriguing, beguiling, addictive and unique, i find no reason for one to hate The Hunger Games. It's one of my favorites for life, right up there with Harry Potter on my list of "will love it until I die." It's just that great. So, if you have been missing out, go find it, buy it, and enjoy it.

As the pair make plans for the upcoming Victory Tour and the 75th anniversary of the Hunger Games a visit from President Snow contains a grave warning, forcing Katniss to publicly reaffirm her love for Peeta as well as trying to find a way to stop the desired but deadly and growing civil unrest.
Katniss herself must decide just what her motives really were when she risked everything to save Peeta. Was it an act of selfishness, of defiance, or was it more - was it a rebellion against the system that pits children against children for the amusement of the capital? And now, it's not just Katniss fighting back. There are uprisings breaking out all over the various districts, and the symbol of the rebellion seems to be the Mockingjay, just like Katniss' pin that she wore in the arena.
Once the President decides on his form of revenge you simply won’t believe what happens and then you won’t be able to put the book down.
Catching Fire is a crazy thrilling cruel ride that I will never forget! It's malicious, inhuman and frustrating but in the best way possible! Charged with pure raw emotion with ever.single.line, my only thought after reading this book was MORE!!
This is most possibly the WORST (or best depending what you go on) cliffhanger I have encountered in all my reading days. It leaves you more than just hanging, you are grasping for your life on a thread that is fraying and there is nothing to do but hold on (well metaphorically of course). It was filled with plenty of moments that made me yell out "NO they can't do that". I really hate the Capitol and President Snow. Luckily Peeta provided lots Awww moments especially when he said "I wish I could freeze this moment, right now, and live in it forever". xD
I want to scream to the top of my lungs and say that: THIS BOOK IS BEYOND AWESOME!!!!!

Mockingjay is indeed a DARK, DARK book full of deaths, sacrifices, torture, betrayal and despair, a book which takes you to a very disturbing but very real place. I have no doubt the novel will have thousands of readers livid, especially the crowd of readers who mistakenly think The Hunger Games trilogy is mostly dedicated to Team Gale/Team Peeta dilemma with some revolt thrown in as a picturesque backdrop. These books are about love indeed, but they are also about survival, freedom, and peace.
How realistic is it to expect a child damaged by hunger, oppression, and violence she had to witness and take a part in, and thrown into the midst of all kinds of political intrigue, to achieve that? How many soldiers do you know who came out of a war unscathed or empowered by the atrocities they have witnessed? How many children?
This is why this book has such a great effect on me. It takes a very difficult but honest route, portraying the infinitely damaging consequences of war (regardless of the righteousness of its cause) and Katniss's journey to stay true to herself and do the best she can.
Mockingjay is my favourite out of three. Love isn't a strong enough word for this story. This book, this series, is epic gold and I can never get enough!
The Hunger Games trilogy was always a series about war and humanity -- and may we readers never forget the lessons learned within, lest we repeat the same mistakes in our own futures.

Still, there were so many endearing moments in this book, such as Katniss’s Crazy Cat game, the moment she realized she needed Haymitch emotionally and he wrapped his arms around her, her revealing moment that Prim was no longer the little sister with the ducktail she need to tuck and protect, and her real or not real response to Peeta’s final question.
Hats off to Suzanne Collins for penning an epic finale of courageous and daring proportions.

The bright yellow that means rebirth instead of destruction. The promise that life can go on, no matter how bad our losses. That it can be good again. And only Peeta can give me that."

I knew she truly loved him when she started fighting for him, not only for his life but for all those lost memories, for his love.
